Marketing Coordinator — Alexandria, VA

Job Requirements

This position reports directly to the Marketing Manager.  Marketing Coordinator will assist in all areas of the Marketing Department to include but not be limited to: creating formal and creative copy, social media marketing, collateral creation and implementation, special event marketing and online advertising.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing short and long term objectives for social media's overall strategy
  • Maintain editorial calendar for social media channels
  • Responsible for writing content for use via social media channels using correct grammar and spelling
  • Evaluate success of content marketing via social media using analytics available and report to supervisor
  • Maintain and update the company's website
  • Assist in placement of marketing items including branch set-up for campaigns and other promotional items
  • Ensures the proper use of logos and brand guidelines are used in all Member One materials
  • Keep inventory of marketing promotional items such as pens, key chains, mugs, etc.
  • Assist with coordination of production and distribution of various communications with outside vendors, such as printers and mail houses to meet their designated due date
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of communications for campaigns, product enhancements, direct marketing programs, sales tools and general marketing updates
  • Work creatively to establish marketing campaigns for the credit union
  • Create, schedule and implement email campaigns to membership
  • Supports credit union management, the Board of Directors and credit union sponsored events and activities
  • Other duties and responsibilities assigned

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Experience using social media in a business setting preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external members, staff and auditors
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
